CAQA BOT for Chrome and Edge

Free browser extension, version 1.0.0

Check your writing wherever you write online: email, social media, job applications, learning portals and web forms. CAQA BOT underlines spelling, grammar, clarity and tone issues as you type and fixes them in one click. Select any text and right-click to paraphrase, summarise, translate or cite it.

Download the extension

ZIP file, about 45 KB. Works in Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge on Windows, macOS, Linux and ChromeOS.

What it does

  • Suggestions as you type in text boxes and rich text editors on websites, in four colours: correctness, clarity, engagement and delivery.
  • One-click fixes. Point at an underline to see the fix and the reason for it. Click the round CAQA BOT badge in the corner of the text box to see every suggestion and fix them all at once.
  • Right-click tools. Select text, right-click and choose CAQA BOT to paraphrase, check grammar, humanize, summarise, translate or check for AI writing. Choose Cite this page to build a citation for the page you are reading.
  • Your English. Australian, British, American or Canadian spelling, with your own personal dictionary.
  • You stay in control. Turn it off for one website, or everywhere, from the CAQA BOT button in the toolbar.

Install it in Chrome or Edge

  1. Download the extension and unzip it. You get a folder called caqa-bot-extension.
  2. Open chrome://extensions in Chrome, or edge://extensions in Edge.
  3. Turn on Developer mode.
  4. Choose Load unpacked and select the caqa-bot-extension folder.
  5. Pin CAQA BOT to the toolbar from the extensions (puzzle piece) menu.

Keep the folder where it is, because the browser loads the extension from it. To update, download the new version, replace the folder and press the reload button on the CAQA BOT card in the extensions page.

Your privacy

The extension reads the text box you are typing in, only while you use it, and sends that text to caqabot.com to check spelling and, when the AI engine is available, grammar and style. Text is processed only to produce suggestions. It is not stored on our servers and is not used to train AI models. The extension never reads password fields or code editors, and it stops completely on any website you switch it off for. Your settings and personal dictionary stay in your browser profile. Read the Privacy Policy for the details.

Good to know

  • Google Docs draws its text in a way extensions cannot check. Use the right-click tools there, or paste into CAQA BOT Write.
  • Website owners can switch the extension off for a field by adding data-caqabot="off" to it.
